Short-stay & per-day billing

Bill the short stays by the day — without breaking your monthly rent roll.

Not every guest signs up for a month. Book a short-stay guest for a set number of nights at a per-day rate, take one charge at check-in, and let Stay flag the bed the day they're due out — so you check them out in a tap, or extend the stay when they ask for more nights.

Per-day booking · One charge at check-in · From ₹499/mo per hostel

The honest problem: A monthly PG tool assumes everyone stays a month. But guest houses, working-professional PGs and hostels near stations and hospitals take people for three nights, five nights, a week. Force those guests into a monthly plan and the maths is wrong; track them in a notebook and the money leaks the moment the guest walks out un-billed. And when a short guest overstays, nobody remembers who was due to leave when.

How it works

Three steps from sign-up to live recovery.

  1. 1

    Book the stay per day

On move-in, switch billing to "Short stay", enter the nights and a per-day rate (suggested from the room rent, editable). Stay shows the running total and the checkout date, and raises one charge due at check-in — not a monthly invoice.

  2. 2

    See who's checking out

The bed grid marks a short-stay guest, and the day the checkout date arrives the bed and the dashboard flag "checking out today" — or how many days they're over — so nobody is quietly staying on un-billed.

  3. 3

Check out or extend in a tap

Tap Check out to run the same Final Statement a monthly tenant gets — deposit minus dues, one refund or collect — and free the bed. Or tap Extend, add the nights, and Stay raises one more per-day charge and pushes the checkout date.

Per-day pricing

Set the nights and a per-day rate; Stay computes the stay total and takes it as one charge due at check-in. The rate is suggested from the room's monthly rent, so you're not guessing a nightly figure.

"Checking out" flag

Every short-stay bed shows its checkout date, and turns to "checking out today" / "N days over" on the grid and the dashboard the moment the date lands — the overstay you'd otherwise miss.

One-tap checkout

Checkout runs the same server-computed Final Statement as a monthly move-out — held deposit minus what's owed = one refund or collect number — and frees the bed for the next guest.

Extend without re-booking

Guest wants three more nights? Tap Extend, enter the nights, and Stay raises one more per-day charge and moves the checkout date — no new tenancy, no re-typing.

Deposits and receipts, same as always

A short stay still holds an optional deposit and lands on the same ledger, passbook and receipts as a monthly tenant. It's a billing mode, not a separate mini-product to learn.

Your leakage number stays honest

A short-stay charge is rent: an unpaid one shows in the leakage total, a paid one as collected. Monthly tenants are untouched — one truthful "rent leaking this month" figure across both.

What it costs

Short-stay and per-day billing are part of the one plan — one simple per-hostel price from ₹499/month (about 20% off on annual), with beds above your pack at ₹5 each, billed on the beds you set up and not on how many nights each guest books. No per-booking fee.

FAQ

Common questions.

  • No — and it's worth being precise. What's live today is a bounded short stay: a fixed number of nights, priced per day, billed as one charge at check-in. Recurring weekly rent — a rent that renews every week on its own — is on the roadmap, not live yet.
